In his eyes...In my eyes

I made a blueberry waffles this morning for my husband. While I'm dropping the blueberries in the batter mix, I started to have this memory of what I used to make for breakfast in the Philippines.-- I don't usually eat breakfast since I travel 45 minutes to 1 hour going to work. Most likely, I'll have black coffee or coffee with cream. It's not brewed...we use Nescafe instant coffee. I'll take jeepney or fx to Sta. Mesa and sometimes grab a breakfast McDo before taking LRT2 to New Manila, QC.

I closed the waffle maker and started pouring coffee grounds on the coffee maker. The waffle maker started to smoke...and I thought I'm burning the waffle....glad I didn't. We got this latte maker recently and that's one of the best thing we could ever have in our kitchen. Why? 'coz it makes a really good latte and cappuccino. So, I poured in the brewed coffee in the latte maker and run it for a couple of minutes. As I wait for the coffee, I continue to keep making waffles.

I don't have all these stuffs when I was in the Philippines. I would probably just go to Starbucks to get my latte...but we're just blessed to make our own waffles and Starbucks-like latte in the morning.

Tim told me while we're having breakfast how he appreciate being in America just being married to me. I told him, how I appreciate growing up in the Philippines just living here in America. You never know how much you appreciate the place where you came from until you're miles and miles away from it. Tim remembered the time when he went to Ireland and how much he loves the place that he doesn't want to go back in US. But at that time, he sees Ireland and US in his own eyes only. Now, he sees US and Philippines in my eyes as well.

Just looking at these little things or blessings we have, is "SO MUCh" for me. A waffle maker? a latte maker? For an average American...that's a small stuff. For me...it's a blessing. It's nice to appreciate the small things we have whether here in US or in the Philippines.
