She promised to wake up early this morning, at least to herself last night before getting in bed. She promised that she'll wake up at 6:00 am to spend time with God. But around 5:00 am, she was awakened because of her body's need to go to the bathroom. Missy thought she still have one more hour before her planned time to pray so she went back to bed.
But it was like a little voice or whisper that keeps telling her, "Missy, you better get up! You promised"...
It's overcast outside and though morning has began, there was no sign of sunshine on her window. She tried to open her eyes but it felt so heavy to get up. It was a quarter before 8:00 am when she decided then to get up. Missy walked out from her bedroom to her living room, picked up the Bible and open it on Psalms 19. She stopped for a moment and looked out her window, still no sign of sunshine. It's overcast but the snow from her neighbor's rooftop is just enough make her eyes squint.
She began to read;
" The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day, they pour forth speech;
night after night, they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out into all
the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens he has
pitched a tent for the sun, which is like
a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is hidden from his heat.
The law of the Lord is perfect,
reviving the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making the wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to our heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord if pure, enduring forever.
The ordinances of the Lord are sure,
and altogether righteous.
They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.
By them is your servant warned; in keeping them
there is great reward.
Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults.
Keep your servant also from willful sinss;
may they not rule over me.
Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight, O Lord my Rock and my Redeemer. "
After reading, Missy utter a silent prayer. Thankful of what the Lord has done in her life, for God's faithfulness all through the time, just before her daughter wakes up. Quite refreshing to start her day.
