Before the museum opened, there's several protests here and there. I think there were about 250 people (or so) that protests in front of the museum on it's opening. Surprisingly, some of them were Christians. This big debate here in United States on "evolution" and "Creationism" was so foreign to me until I was introduced a few years ago when Answers in Genesis came to our former church in Elkhart, IN. That was before Creation Museum opened. I guess, because I grew up in the country werein majority of the beliefs believed in God, our Creator.
The trip all around the museum is so basic for a Christian believer, yet full of informations which are all based on ONE authoritative source, The Bible.
I thought, one trip is enough. At first, I don't understand why our friend William and Robin got an annual pass where they can come anytime in a year for several times. I guess, when we came (with my in-laws), it was just a very short time as we came after lunch (mid-day Sunday) and the museum closes at 6pm on Sundays. But it's worth a trip although we didn't get a chance to see the outside nature trail and petting zoo.
So today, we woke up early to meet Tim's mom in Metamora, IN (another place worth a visit). We've been talking to her about this quaint little historic town we saw in Cinci magazine so we scheduled to meet her up there for lunch. We're an hour away and she thought she's 3 1/2 hours away. Unfortunately, her GPS wasn't set up right that the 3 1/2 hours became 4 1/2 hours drive. We ended cancelling the date as she just headed down to Brown County, IN to meet her friends down there.
With Tim, me & Gwen full geared up to go out, we decided to get a quick lunch at McDo and visit again the Creation Museum to check out the nature trail we missed when we last visit there. It's amazing that they put up this big trail for kids & grown-ups as well FOR FREE! You don't have to pay to hang out and go around the nature trail. There's sculptures of dinosaurs and I saw loch ness hanging out at the lake (just a sculpture). I took several photos using the digital camera and kodak brownie viewfinder. There's two suspended bridge which is fun to walk on to. Several streams surrounded the trail and we ended up our walk at the Petting Zoo which is also free. They have several animals in the Petting Zoo that you can pet & feed. My favorite is a donkey, the Llama and the Camel. There's several goats and I think a wild sheep. What's interesting is the two zebras which are cross-bred with one, a donkey and the other one, a horse.
Gwen surely had lots of fun despite of the dehydration I think she's feeling after the trip. We got a lemonade before we took off and she almost drank 1/4 of the big tumbler we bought.Creation Museum is one sure trip you shouldn't missed when visiting Kentucky, or United States. I told Tim, when we saw a huge group of Koreans in front of the museum when we first came there, "in America, if people hears a Creation Museum opening...they will protests in front of it. Probably in Korea, if they heard of the Creation Museum opening, they'll say let's fly out to see it!"
If you're around, let us know 'coz we have a spare couch!
