Slow Down. Quiet. It's Advent!

I was reading an advent calendar given by Tim's officemate with a title "Slow Down. Quiet! It's Advent!"

I thought, that was one thing most of us were missing, to slow down, sit and be quiet and converse with the One---the reason of this time of the year. Last night, we went to the nearest mall here and even it's Monday (weekday), the foodcourt is crowded, the stores are still open even after 6pm and a lot of people are shopping or just hanging out by the fountain. We left at about 8:30pm and there's still a big amount of crowd in the mall.

I love going to malls every Christmas, not to shop alone, but just to feel the spirit of it looking at the Christmas lights, window displays and the kids running around. This coming weekend, it's Tim's bday, we're driving to Winona Lake, celebrate early Christmas with family, celebrate our anniversary. The next coming weekend, our get-together with Lisa & David is probably postponed 'til next year, we might go to the Creation Museum with The Stumps and for sure, Tim will be spending a lot of time with us from this weekend 'til next week because of his time off.

Advent meaning in the Latin word "adventus" or the "coming" celebrates the arrival of Christ. I know Christ came and resurrected and now resides in my heart when I accepted Him as my Saviour. Just as His name "Emmanuel" meaning God with us.

This time of the year, we may be busy shopping, wrapping gifts for our loved ones, organizing Christmas parties, preparing our table for Christmas Eve dinner, etc. Let's not forget the reason we celebrate this year...Jesus is His name. Let's not forget to slow down, grab our Bible and read His Word, so that we may connect with Him through His Word and and talk with Him through prayer.

Merry Christmas to ALL!

....and did I say CHRISTmas? Yes, Merry CHRISTmas!!!...NOT Happy Holidays!
